Area Activities
Known for its most prominent feature, the Russian River, the valley is lined with lush vineyards and steep hillsides. Tall redwood trees become more pronounced as you venture further west along River Road towards River Bend Resort. Located in the heart of the valley, River Bend Resort sits along the Russian River, just five miles east of Guerneville. Visitors enjoy swimming and lounging along the river or taking advantage of the area's well-known canoe trips: Burkes Canoe Rentals. Nearby Armstrong Woods State Park offers excellent hiking among some of the areas old-growth redwood trees. Great fishing can be found at nearby Bullfrog lake. The town of Guerneville is five miles west of River Bend and is home to J's Amusement Park and many of the area's restaurants and bars. The nine-hole course at Northwoods is nearby and boasts a beautiful setting of lush undergrowth with the giant redwoods towering above. Just moments away, the Russian River opens to the Pacific Ocean with scenic jagged cliffs overlooking the western landscape.
